Two young Christians try to open a coffeehouse ministry, where their failures redefine their understanding of success.
Adrian and Gabe are two best friends that have finished high school but aren’t ready to make the plunge into college. As they try to figure out what to do with their lives, they decide to go where God leads them, literally. The two toss a dart at a map and when it hits Wichita, they pack up their belongings and head east.
While there, the two friends find a Christian coffeehouse and instantly fall in love with the idea of it’s ministry possibilities. The boys know deep down that they will soon be returning home to Colorado to start their own coffeehouse. After learning what they can and uncomfortable goodbyes, they head back come to Colorado.
Unbeknownst to Adrian and Gabe, more is at work than just a coffeemaker and espresso machine as the coffeehouse opens. Business begins to build and people enter the picture that will be impacted in ways they could never imagine.
Unfortunately, the boy’s lack of business knowledge seems to be catching up with them, as mistakes and bad decisions threaten to hinder their ministry. From homemade pies to private parties, good intentions are continuously undermined by negative consequences.
As the business begins to feel the effect of continual mistakes, Adrian and Gabe each go through their own cycles of doubt and frustration. They each begin to question the purpose of it all and wonder why God would lead them into something only to let it fail. What they don’t see is that with every mistake they seem to make, God uses the situation to help someone.
When the two begin to get a glimpse of what success and failure really mean, they regain their peace and contentment, no matter what is happening to the business. In the end our heroes must simply accept that God has been working through them, even if they never see it.
